As far as historical fiction goes, I loved this one more than I can say. The author borrowed generously from the world of Dickens. Drippings of references to “A Christmas Carol.” A well-researched exploration of London. A spooky twist. It was a fun quick read.
Pom-fection!
One of the more memorable pauses for reflection during my Boston trip was the memorial at Old North Church. There is a dog tag for every life lost in the Iraq-Afghanistan war. On the ground are stones painted with the military casualty number of each major US engagement and every year since the memorial’s placement.
“I’m so excited! Sam Adams is my favorite Founding Father!”
