Shop Small Saturday is coming up soon, and I want to remind you to support small businesses this holiday season. Every year, Thanksgiving weekend is flanked by Black Friday and Cyber Monday. However, nestled right in between the two insane days of spending is Shop Small Saturday, which aims to encourage you to put your hard earned money toward local and handmade companies. And why not? Shopping at small businesses puts money right into the hands of your neighbors, crazy talented artisans, and people living out their dreams.
Are you a little unsure how to support the small business owners in your life?
You don’t always have to buy their goods (although that would be nice!) Maybe your budget is a little tight or you simply don’t have a need for their products or services. That’s totally fine! You can support them in other ways.
Liking and sharing small business content on social media goes a long way. You never know who may be looking for the exact item they are selling, and you could be the magical link that connects them!
Also, sign up for mailing lists and forward email blasts on to your friends and family who may be interested. Sure, it’s free marketing for the business owner, but trust me. The amount of effort they put into their products, services, and business operations has earned them a little free help.
So, what are you waiting for? Get sharing! A small business owner will thank you!
And now, for a little shameless self-promotion…
