Pregnancy #2 – Week 27

Baby is the size of… a bunch of bananas, fennec fox, camping lantern, boule de pain

Highlight of the Week… We’re finally seeing consistent movement of the baby on the outside and it’s awesome. Watching my belly making random motions is so cool and weird! This baby is incredibly active, doing all kinds of flips and turns that it keeps surprising me with where the next sensation is going to come from.

Frustration of the Week… Actually pretty comical. Baby has very strong opinions already about what position I’m in. If I’m too much to my left or right, I get a big jab in the side that is a very clear, “Hey! Move it!” motion. If I want to lay on my left side but baby has other ideas, they very quickly let me know. Definitely a second child and I can already tell we’re in for it with this one.

Cute thing the boys did… Cam had a rough time sleeping this week but it just provided the opportunity for adorable late night interactions with the belly. He’s starting to point to my belly and give me looks like, “What is this?” He’s still giving the belly hugs but the hugs are longer and more deliberate, which I can’t get enough of.

Curiosities… The weather is finally cooling down, so I’m excited to get outside for walks more often. I’ve been working really hard to take care of my muscles and back so we don’t have a repeat of last pregnancy. Keep your fingers crossed that everything stays as comfortable as possible.
